22May2009: - So are you interested in reenacting? Wondering how some of us got into it, a little about our 'real lives' or why we portray German soldiers? Well, Wiking present's two articles written by Johann and Rheinhardt about how they got into reenacting and Wiking inparticularly. 22Feb2009: 'Die Schachenmayerin' - This period article in .PDF form (all in German) provides knitting instructions for various kinds of sweaters, head protection, socks, etc. that were to be sent to the troops on the Ostfront. Thanks to Wiking member Markus Jaeger for this article!

The 5. SS Wiking reenactment group is a non-profit, nonpolitical organization dedicated to the preservation of the history of WW II and the lifestyle of the German combat soldier (specifically Waffen-SS foreign volunteers). Membership in the World War II Historical Re-Enactment Society is required of Wiking members.
